Danielle Reich

For emerging jazz singer Danielle Reich, there have been only short steps from her classical coloratura opera focus in Florida to standing room only in the Heights of Houston.

From orchestras to a first time out with pianists Joe LoCascio and Conrad Kao, Danielle has enjoyed the support of many outstanding Houston musicians as she has emerged with her own jazz trio with Erin Wright on guitar and Thomas Helton on bass. She has particularly enjoyed the support and expertise of Houston musicians Carol Morgan, Larry Slezak, Andrew Lienhard, Ray Wilson, and Clayton Dyess.

A regular in the Galleria area at The Black Swan in the Omni Hotel, Danielle is also well known to the customers and fans at The King Biscuit in The Heights where customers have sometimes had to stand on sidewalks to be a part of the new jazz sounds from jam sessions. Recent jams have featured outstanding teenage musicians and local jazz legends.

A veteran and performer in productions at The University of Florida and Stetson University, in Houston venues, Danielle has performed new works by Julliard-trained Carol Morgan, Joe Locascio's original music, and has sung with the Houston Grand Opera Chorus. She has performed in Houston and New York with experimental composer/bassist Thomas Helton, who has been recognized by the Houston Arts Alliance with a grant for his experimental music. Together, they have led Houston musicians to explore new forms of music and digital recording at Third Coast Noise.

Performing American and European jazz favorites, The Danielle Reich Trio also creates jazz interpretations of songs loved by a wide audience. The Trio has played at private clubs and parties. She has performed for special events and Mardi Gras at the oldest club in Texas, The Galveston Artillery Club. Danielle dreams of creating new music and performing in Europe, South America, and Japan.

Danielle's work as a psychologist and digital engineer has been recognized by The National Learning Laboratory where she is Director of Development and has been responsible for managing the translation of patents and prototypes into global products.
